Keith "A" got off to a fine winning start to their Aberdeenshire League campaign on Monday night at Kynoch Park, with a hard fought win against neignbours Buckie Thistle "A" reports Charlie Simpson.

Both sides had a smattering of first team pool players, but the homesters had some fine performances from young lads, Sam McKenzie, Lee Shanks and Craig McGovern.

Jags broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when ex-Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Deveronvale hot shot Ian Murray blasted home a rasper in off the post from 20 yards.

However, it was all square eight minutes later when Craig McGovern cut the ball inside for Sean KEITH to rifle home from 12 yards.

Foggie Fury Gary HARRIS curled home a beauty from the far edge of the box, giving Darren Strong no chance at all to sew up the points six minutes into the second half.

Young substitutes Lawrence McLelland and Kevin Adams, both showed up impressively in the time they were on the pitch, to earmark themselves for possible bright futures.
