
Keith FC History - Part 1
- Club Formed in 1910
- Reformed in January 26th 1919
- First pitch was Seafield Park, and they played in the Huntly & District League.
- Sir John W Kynoch donated Kynoch Park in 1922.
- Entered Highland League in 1924.
- Record Home Defeat 1-9 against Elgin City in 1925.
- Played first ever Scottish Cup tie in 1926, losing 7-3 at Peebles Rovers.
- Played first ever Scottish Cup tie at Kynoch Park in 1928 winning 5-2 against Dalbeattie Star. Lost 1-6 in 2nd Round against Scottish Cup Holders Celtic in front of a record crowd of 5,820. This was Celtic's first ever appearance North of Aberdeen, and their side included such all-time greats as tragic keeper John Thomson and goal machine Jimmy McGory.
- Dod Gill netted seven goals as Keith defeated Fraserburgh 9-2 in 1934.
- Keith won the Aberdeenshire Cup for the first time in 1936, defeating Peterhead 3-1 over two legs. They were also the first Banffshire team to reach the Qualifying Cup Final, losing to Vale of Ocoba in a 2nd replay. The first match ended 2-2 at Borough Briggs, Elgin in front of a crowd of over 5,000.
- Keith had to get permission in 1948 from the Ministry of Labour & Department of Agriculture to play Frank Hucker, a German Ex POW.
- The Aberdeedshire Cup was won for the second time in 1958, the Maroons defeating Huntly 5-3 over two legs.
- The Aberdeenshire Cup was won for a third time in 1960, defeating Peterhead 5-1 on aggregate. Billy Stuart also became a local hero the same year, when he notched two goals as keith defeated Hamilton Accies 3-0 at Kynoch Park in front of 2,600 fans in the Scottish Cup 1st Round. Keith won the Qualifying Cup for the first time that year, beating Buckie Thistle 7-5 on aggregate. Keith won the 2nd leg 3-2 at home in front of over 2000 fans.
- Keith were runners-up in the League in 191, losing out after two play off matches against Elgin City. Both games were played at Buckie, the first match ending 1-1 in front of 4,750 fans, and the second game ending up 3-1 for City in front of 4950 fans. A couple of weeks earlier the teams had drawn 2-2 at Kynoch Park with a crowd of over 4,000 looking on.
